Hunker Down

Hunker Down

“Hunker Down”

This song was inspired by a quote from June Carter Cash who said that when life got hard you had to “hunker down and press on.” It is from the new album “Come Over” by Patty Carpenter and the Dysfunctional Family Jazz Band (DFJB).

This performance was in June, 2009 at the Rodeo Bar in New York City. The Dysfunctional Family Jazz Band (DFJB) line up features Patty Carpenter and her daughter Melissa Shetler on vocals, Scott Shetler (Melissa’s dad and Patty’s ex) on saxophone, Paul Sullivan on guitar, Russ Meissner on drums, and sitting in on bass for Tony Garnier, is Travis Light (Patty’s 19 year old son).
